PhD Thesis: Type systems and type inference in distributed calculi, with locations and passivations

The thesis began the first September, 2006. The work consists in two points:

• one is the study of a formal basis for software components models, using a process calculus approach. Specifically, our interest is to add to the kell calculus -- which encode component using locations and code mobility using passivation -- a mechanism for communication between distant localities, and more refined synchronization primitives, like logical variables.
• The second point is to study type system and type inference on such a distributed calculus with code mobility. Our starting point is the work done by Yoshida.

Working experiences

• 2006 - Internship at INRIA Rhone-Alpes (duration: 1 year). Definition of a distributed calculus mixing localities, records and routing procedures, along with a type system and a type inference algorithm. This internship was supervised by Alan Schmitt.
• 2005 - Internship at IRISA (duration 6 months). Definition of a model for cognitive and sensitive agent, and implementation in C++. This internship was supervised by Stephane Donikian.
• 2004 - Internship at Vienna University of technology (duration 3 months). Definition of morphological operations (dilating, shrinking) on 2d images plunged in 3d represented by graphs. This internship was supervised by Allan Hanbury.
